Valentines Day For This Old Married Couple

Another Valentine's Day has come and gone for this old married couple. We're a low maintenance man and wife team. Buying expensive things for each other was never our forté. We have this 'I love you and I know you love me' kind of thing going on. Sure, we buy each other inexpensive small gifts, but we know we don't have to spend a wad to prove it. We're old school. It's the thought that counts.
This May will be our 25th wedding anniversary. Where did the time go? I think back over Valentine's Days past and remember the cards and candy given to each other. My husband usually gives me a funny and risqué card, because he knows that's what I like best - a laugh and a glimpse of the dirty old man I know he is inside, lol. I usually give him a box of chocolates for his sweet tooth. This year you can tell we've been married since the stone age. We're like an old comfortable pair of house-shoes. We gave each other the EXACT same gift. A box of Russell Stover candy in exactly the same box design and weight. I didn't think to ask, but we probably bought them in the same store too!

True Love - Mom and Dad

This is a layout I created with my S.W.A.K. - Pink kit available at 3Scrapateers. I'm not sure of an exact date for the photo, but I'm pretty sure it was taken in the early 60s. This is when my parents were still young and had been married for about 4 or 5 years. They looks so happy! Ah, the good old days of black and white film.

I'm Infatuated...

...with Michael Bublé. I new of his existance, but never paid much attention to him or his music until recently. Now that I have I'm totally hooked. Sheesh, good looks, great music, and a delicious voice = my having a school girl crush on this hottie. Check him out at http://michaelbuble.com/ and http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/buble_michael/bio.jhtml .
I love all types of music, but must confess that I usually stick to listening to rock and pop as my staples. I was getting restless and bored listening to my usual fare when I read someone talking about his music on a message board. I figured I'd go to his site and check him out. Wow! I was totally knocked on my butt by his voice. I immediately purchased his self titled album Michael Bublé and spent the rest of the day listening to it over and over. His velvety, jazz style offerings are the perfect background music to listen to when you want to relax. I especially love to listen to him when I'm scrapping.

Home Sweet Home

Wow, I can't believe how a few small improvements can make such a big difference to my little piece of the internet. It's starting to feel like home sweet home around here.

Home
by Mary Daly

Home is such a little word,
Which covers such a lot,
From the old man in his easy chair,
To the baby in his cot.
It doesn't have to be a place,
Of antiques, gold or splendor,
Just a simple little cottage,
Full of joy, and truth, and candour.
Where from understanding parents,
You learn, the right from wrong.
Where you are taught to be upstanding.
And grow up brave and strong.
Home is where you learn to share,
And respect your fellow man,
To see each others point of view,
And be as tolerant as you can.
It is a place of love and laughter,
Of grumbles, frowns and tears.
But no place else, in all this world,
Can you spend such happy years.
Its a place you are always welcome to,
No matter how you are,
It will put its arms around you,
For home means love and care.
A meeting place of families,
Where you don't have to pretend,
Where you never feel a stranger,
And you are welcome to the end.
So boys and girls, if you have strayed,
And on the street do roam,
Kind and anxious parents,
Are calling out come home,
To a place where you will find peace of mind,
And you will never walk alone,
For you are very very special,
In your own home sweet home.

S.W.A.K.

I have 2 new kits in my store at 3Scrapateers. They're flaming hot out of PSP X and just in time for your Valentine's Day pages and crafts. They work wonderfully with my Papercraft Purse Templates to make extra special cards and love notes.

Woop, Woop

Go, go, go, go
Go, go, go Joyce
It's your birthday
We gon' party like it's yo birthday....

Yes! Check out the logo I added to the title bar. I also made some changes to the font size of the title and description, plus I made some side bar modifications. I'm cooking with heat now baby! Lol, it doesn't take much to make me want to celebrate like it's my birthday.

Hmm, what to mod next? Stay tuned!

The Little Train That Could

It's sort of plain and uninteresting looking around here right now, but slowly and surely I'm going to be the little train that could and become proficient at blogging. It doesn't help that I keep changing my mind as to the design, lol. I think I need to brush up on my pitiful knowledge of html coding too. :^)

Stacey it's all your fault....

....you brought up the subject of blogs when I had nothing better to do. So here I am trying my hand at blogging for the first time. You know it's true, an old dog can learn new tricks!
